Abstract:〔Abstract〕 Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of Bazhen decoction in the treatment of anemia in elderly patients with intertrochanteric fracture of femur after proximal femoral nail antirotation (PFNA). Methods A total of 62 elderly patients receiving PFNA surgery for intertrochanteric fracture of femur were selected from Nanan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from February 2022 to February 2023, and randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, with 31 cases in each group.Patients in both groups were given routine anticoagulation, detumescence and infection prevention. Patients in the observation group received continuous treatment with Bazhen decoction after the day of operation, and the clinical efficacy of patients in the two groups was compared. Results After treatment, the levels of hematocrit (HCT) and hemoglobin (Hb) were higher in the observation group compared to those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). The total effective rate of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome improvement in the observation group was 96.77%, higher than 77.42% in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). The total effective rate of anemia in the observation group was 93.55%, which was higher than that in the control group (70.97%), and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion The application of Bazhen decoction in the treatment of anemia after PFNA operation of intertrochanteric fracture of femur in the elderly has significant clinical effect, which can effectively improve the postoperative anemia of patients, improve the symptoms of Qi and blood deficiency, and promote a faster recovery for patients after surgery.
