Abstract:〔Abstract〕 Objective To explore the application effect of traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture in patients with lumbar disc herniation. Methods A total of 80 patients with lumbar disc herniation admitted to Jiangxi Integrated hospital of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine from July 2020 to October 2021 were selected and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 40 cases in each group. Patients in the control group received routine treatment, while patients in the observation group received traditional Chinese acupuncture on the basis of the control group. The total effective rate, lumbar function score and pain score of the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 85.00%, higher than 57.50% of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). After treatment, the Japanese Orthopaedic Association (JOA) score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the visual analogue scale (VAS) score was lower than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion The application of traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture in patients with lumbar disc herniation can relieve the related symptoms and pain, promote the recovery of lumbar function, and help to improve the treatment effect.
