Abstract:〔Abstract〕 Objective To evaluate the effect of acupuncture combined with rehabilitation therapy on speech function in patients with post-stroke motor aphasia. Methods A total of 60 patients with motor aphasia after stroke treated in the Rehabilitation Hospital Affiliated to Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2019 to January 2022 were selected and divided into a control group and an observation group by computer random allocation method, with 30 patients in each group. Patients in the control group were given rehabilitation therapy alone, and patients in the observation group were treated with acupuncture treatment on the basis of the control group. The speech function, neurological function, daily living ability and therapeutic effect of the two groups were compared and observed. Results After treatment, the scores of speech function in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group, with statistical significances (P < 0.05). After treatment, the score of National Institutes of Health stroke scale (NIHSS) in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the score of the Barthel index was higher than that in the control group, with statistical significances (P < 0.05). The improvement rate of aphasia in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). The total satisfaction of treatment in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion The clinlcal therapy of acupuncture combined with rehabilitation for post-stroke motor aphasia patients, is not only conducive to the recovery of speech function and the improvement of self-care ability, but also can effectively reduce the impact of brain nerve function damage.
