〔Abstract〕 Objective To explore the application value of Shugan Xiezhi mixture combined with conventional Western medicine in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Methods 84 patients with GERD who received treatment in department of spleen and stomach of Quanzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2021 to January 2022-January 2014 were selected as the research objects. They were divided into an observation group and a control group by random number table method, with 42 patients in each group.The control group was given conventional western medicine treatment, the observation group was given Shugan Xiere mixture combined with conventional western medicine treatment, the two groups of patients continued to take medicine for 1 month. After treatment, the clinical effects of the two groups were evaluated, and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndromes score, quality of life [GERD quality of life scale (GERD-HRQL)] and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 97.62% (41/42), which was higher than 83.05% (34/42) of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). After treatment, the scores of TCM syndromes in the two groups were lower than those before treatment. After treatment, the scores of TCM syndromes in the observation group were lower than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). After treatment, The GERD-HRQL score of the two groups was lower than that before treatment, and the GERD-HRQL score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). There was no significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P > 0.05). ConclusionShugan Xiere mixture combined with conventional western medicine can improve the therapeutic effect, gastric mucosa secretion function, promote the improvement of the condition, improve the quality of life of patients with GERD, and has a good safety.
