Abstract:〔Abstract〕 Objective To investigate the effect of artificial joint replacement on intertrochanteric fracture of femur in elderly patients. Methods 40 elderly patients with intertrochanteric fracture of femur admitted to Maoming Dianbai District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2019 to May 2020 were selected and randomly divided into control group and observation group, with 20 cases in each group. Patients in the control group were treated with dynamic hip screw internal fixation, and patients in the observation group were treated with artificial joint replacement. The excellent and good rate of postoperative recovery and the incidence of complications were compared between the two groups. Results The excellent and good rate of postoperative recovery in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). The incidence of complications in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion In the treatment of senile intertrochanteric fracture of femur, artificial joint replacement is more effective than dynamic hip screw internal fixation, with higher postoperative recovery rate and less complication rate.
