Abstract:〔Abstract〕 Objective To investigate the effect of thumbtack needle combined with loratadine on allergic rhinitis in children. Methods 66 children with allergic rhinitis admitted to Guangzhou Zengcheng District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from April 2019 to January 2020 were selected and divided into control group and observation group by drawing lots, with 33 cases in each group. The control group received loratadine treatment, and the observation group received thumbtack needle combined with loratadine treatment, and the efficacy differences between the two groups were compared. Results There was no significant difference in visual analog scale (VAS) score of nasal symptoms between the two groups before treatment (P > 0.05); after treatment, VAS score of nasal symptoms in the observation group was lower than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). There was no significant difference in TCM syndrome score between the two groups before treatment (P > 0.05); after treatment, the TCM syndrome score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). The total effective rate of observation group was 96.96%, which was higher than 81.82% of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion The treatment of allergic rhinitis in children by thumbtack needle combined with loratadine can effectively improve the clinical symptoms of the children.
