〔Abstract〕 Objective To explore the influence of pure titanium claw type rib plate on the postoperative complications after internal fixation of fractures. Methods 165 patients with multiple rib fractures who were treated in Yingde Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from February 2018 to February 2020 were selected and divided into two groups according to different treatment methods. 80 patients in the control group were treated with traditional local compression bandaging therapy, and 85 patients in the observation group were treated with pure titanium claw rib plate internal fixation. The hospitalization time, analgesic dose, drainage tube placement time, pain score and postoperative complications were compared between the two groups. Results The hospitalization time and drainage tube placement time of patients in the observation group were shorter than those in control group, the analgesic drug dosage was lower than that of the control group, visual analog scale (VAS) score was lower than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). The total incidence of postoperative complications such as fracture displacement, thoracic malformation, delayed pneumothorax, pulmonary infection and atelectasis in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion Compared with the traditional conservative treatment, the pure titanium claw rib plate has better effect on internal fixation of fracture, less complications, shorter hospital stay, accelerating patients' rehabilitation, reducing patients' pain, safe and effective operation. It has the advantages of minimally invasive and simple operation.
