Abstract:〔Abstract〕Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of liraglutide with metformin in the treatment of type 2 diabetes. Methods 80 patients with type 2 diabetes admitted to Chongqing Changshou District People's Hospital from Jane 2019 to June 2020 were selected as the study subjects and randomly divided into two groups, with 40 patients each in the control and observation group. The observation group was treated with liraglutide combined with metformin and the patients only metformin. The treatment effects of the two groups were compared. Results The observed patients were treated more efficiently than the patients in the control group. The difference was statistical significant (P <0.05); After the treatment, in the observation group, fasting blood glucose (FBG), blood glucose after 2 h (2h PG), body mass index (BMI), hemoglobin (HbA1c) and insulin resistance index (HOMA IR) levels decreased significantly than thoses in the control group. Insulin sensitivity index (ISI) and islet cell function index (HOMA) of the observation group were significantly higher than thoses of the control group, The differences were all statistically significant (P < 0.05); After the treatment, in the observation group, TNF-α, IL-6, and ASAA levels were significantly decreased than thoses in the control group, The differences were statistical significant (P < 0.05); The incidence of adverse reactions in the observed group was significantly lower than that in the control group, The difference was statistical significant (P <0.05). Conclusion The combination of liraglutide with metformin works well, maintaining blood glucose stability and improved islet cell function.
