Abstract:〔Abstract〕 Objective To explore the clinical effect of warm acupuncture and acupuncture on senile scapulohumeral periarthritis. Methods A selection of 70 elderly patients with frozen shoulder who were admitted to Wuqing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine Affiliated to Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from June 2018 to December 2020 were divided into acupuncture group and warm acupuncture moxibustion group according to a random number table, with 35 cases in each group. The acupuncture group was treated with ordinary acupuncture, and the warm acupuncture group was treated with warm acupuncture. The serum interleukin-6 (IL-6), tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α), shoulder visual analog pain scale (VAS) scores and clinical efficacy were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results Before treatment, there was no significant difference in the levels of IL-6 and TNF-α between the two groups of patients (P > 0.05). After treatment, the levels of IL-6 and TNF-α in the warm acupuncture moxibustion group were lower than those in the acupuncture group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05); before the treatment, the difference in VAS scores between the two groups of patients was not statistically significant (P > 0.05) . After treatment, the VAS scores of the two groups of patients decreased to varying degrees, and the warm needling moxibustion group was lower than the acupuncture group, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05); the total effective rate of the warm needling moxibustion group was 94.29%, which was higher than that of acupuncture 77.14% of the group, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion Compared with ordinary acupuncture, warm needle moxibustion can significantly reduce serum inflammatory factors IL-6 and TNF-α levels and relieve shoulder pain, and the clinical effect is more significant.
